Prefer to use first full name. Privacy issues on the internet?

I'd prefer to use my full first name in the BP community, however I have chosen not to b/c I have no idea where it will end up on the internet. My issue is that I have a very unique first name, as far as I know, I'm the only one on the planet with my name. In the past, I've failed to realize that some sites are pretty much wide open! And doing a Google search of my name will turn up, amongst other things, entire conversations I've had with support teams of various websites, my full Instagram account, comments on Facebook. My question is, if I use my full name, as most people do on BP, will all of my activity be available for the world to see with a simple Google search? I would like to use my first, real name, but concerned about the privacy issues. Thanks!

BiggerPockets has privacy filters, including the ability to hide your last name. Simply go to our PRIVACY page at http://www.biggerpockets.com/settings/privacy and select the option to hide your last name.

You may want to explore the other settings there as well.

Otherwise, if you're concerned about the privacy of your posts, you may want to consider upgrading to a PRO account on the site, which would give you access to our PRO Only forum. Posts in that forum won't end up on the search engines and can only be seen by other PRO members. You can upgrade to PRO at http://www.biggerpockets.com/pro
