I wanted to make everyone aware of some minor, but important changes to the BiggerPockets Member Blog system.

  • We removed the keyword (tag) functionality. The feature was outdated and was mostly used as a way to be spammy.
  • We added a new field where you can create a post summary. This summary is what shows when someone finds your article on the search engines or on the BiggerPockets Blog search.

Simply enter a brief summary of the contents of your post so readers can find out what your post is all about, and by doing so, you'll improve the likelyhood that searchers will want to read your articles.

Whether you're creating a new post or editing an old one, make sure to include the summary to increase the odds of finding new readers.

As always, we've got more great improvements on the way -- stay tuned!
