Painting 3 rooms in Bergen Country, NJ

Hello everyone,

I have a 3 rooms that need to be repainted. Have called several contractors and they all quoted me around $2500 for the labor only. They said 3-4 days for two people to do the job.

I think the pricing is a bit heavy. So want to ask you what do think ? What price should I negotiate ?

I live in Bergen county, NJ. I understand that pricing here maybe higher than some other states due to the short distance to New York City.

Waiting for your advices.

If it's only painting, why not just do it yourself and save that dough for something more useful?

How big are the rooms and what is the conditions of the walls? That does seem a bit pricey for me. I've gotten an entire 1800 sq. ft. 3 bed 2 bath home done for that price. I would be looking for at least half that. Let me know if you need help finding a handyman who can do the job.

Ill agree with everyone that it is on the high side but not unreasonable. HOWEVER without knowing how bad the walls are and the size of the rooms I can't tell you how the price is. I mean it could be 3, 10x10 rooms or 3, 20x20 rooms.

On top of that you said you called several companies and they are all landing around the same price. That right there tells me the price is justified. It's not like you said you had two prices of 1500 and one of 2500 and your wondering why the one is so high.
