Hello everyone, I have some contracting specific questions in regards to Houston. My family has done hundreds of projects in Illinois on the commercial and residential side. I myself moved to Houston a few years ago. And recently obtained my Real Estate license. I’m working on moving my family down here to Houston. And I’m having trouble finding the answers to these specific questions to make our transition easier. Could anyone provide some links that I can get answers to these questions: What are The state of Texas requirements to obtain a roofers licensed for residential. Do you need to register as a contractor for the city of Houston and/or Harris County? Can you pull your own permits for electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling if you are going to live in the house in Harris County and for the city of Houston? When do you have to sprinkle a structure by code in the city of Houston or Harris County? How are costs of a building permit determined in Harris County and Houston? What is the code in Harris county and the city of Houston for the number of layers of shingles you can have on a residential structure? Do you need stamped plans for new residential construction of single-family homes.
