Maintenance Cost on Big Ticket items

I had a investor whose property we manage recently inform me of a hot water tank install that was $1,100.  I was surprised to hear that as we get these installed for $600 to $750 (variance being size, gas or electric and if tank is in attic or ground floor).  That seems to be the going rate for legit PM companies in my market.  I began to wonder what other big ticket items cost in other markets.

Would anyone be willing to share what they have paid for Hot Water tanks, AC installs, furnace installs and new roofs?
