How do you find good handymen?

For those of you who work with handymen to help with minor repairs at your properties:

How did you find them?

How do you evaluate them? What do you look for?

And for my fellow Chicago BPers, any local handymen you would recommend? (I'm in Irving Park.)

@Joey Nakayama  I swear by handyman matters.  They have a licensed electrical, GC, and plumber on staff.  You call, they come out and assess the situation for a flat fee.  Then they tell you what the problem is and how many hours to fix it.  If you approve, they go to Home Depot, but the supplies and fix it right then.  At the end you pay the consult fee, the cost of materials (with receipt) and a hourly rate.

Especially when we were both working we liked that they fixed it that day (90% of the time) and I didn't have to take multiple days off work or bother tenants more than once.  They also guarantee their work for 1 year.
