How to find Leads

Hello,

To all my permit expediters and all other contractors, how do you all go about finding leads for projects?

I’ve been contacted by the Angi company but I’ve read a lot of negative comments regarding how the treat their contractors. Those who had luck getting work paid most of it to the company because of fees and others say it’s a scam.

I’m a self taught permit expediter. I mostly apply for BTR, Business license, register and file annual report with the SOS. I also handle any inspections needed before the opening of a site. Education is very important, so I’m taking a self taught course to get my permit tech certificate. Not sure if it’s needed or not in the field.

Many construction companies already have someone who does what I do and other contractors apply for their own permitting for their projects. I just don’t know where to start. I’m in Fayetteville NC and many of the companies I’ve called have not been interested.

Any advice? Thank you.
