Credit Score Question

Recently my spouse has had her credit pulled twice. The first time her credit score came back an 863 and the second time an 858. Both claimed to be FICO scores.

I have always been under the impression that the range for FICO scores is 350-850.

We are now in a friendly argument over whether these scores are in fact FICO scores or what they are.

Can somebody please explain to me how they can be higher than 850? She does have excellent credit so I’m not disagreeing with that, I just don’t understand if it’s a different scale being used.

Experian was the company both times and when I go on Experian it says it uses a scale of 350-850.
