Beware of SilverSky Capital
Stay away from Silversky capital out of Lubbock, TX.
They took our application fee and then did nothing. Did not communicate for 3 weeks and did not do any underwriting or order any appraisal / survey. When we requested a refund they just ghosted us.
Dealt with Jerry Yang and Guatam Shah. They are nothing but scam artists. Stay away from them.

How much was their "application fee" and what was it supposed to cover?

Hey Rakesh,
Most lenders do not require any upfront fees besides the appraisal cost. Everything else is paid at closing.
Also make sure the lender you are working with is licensed. You can always report any licensed MLO doing fraudulent activities to the regulators.

I am so sorry that you got scammed too. I had the same thing happen to me. Once I paid for the appraisal and the Phase 1, they completely ghosted me. I did ask for a refund which I was told they would do, but then of course it never materialized. I wasn't expecting that they would, but thought it was worth a shot to ask. The person I was "working" with went by the name of Chris Nguyen.
@Rakesh Bansal - Unfortunately, I know this all too well. Also stay away from
MCMANN CAPITAL - WALT TROCK AND MICHAEL LANZA (they changed their company name from McMann Commercial Lending)
GENIE INVESTMENTS - DAVID HUGHES AND MIKE CONNER.
