Newly Licensed Real Estate Agent

Hello BP Community,

I recently became a licensed real estate agent this week and will be working out of central Ohio. As someone who is still pretty new to real estate and looking to get my career up and running as fast as possible, I wanted to know what are some strategies or ways that helped all of your careers for building a client base, maintaining relationships etc..

I understand that mistakes are going to happen and at this point I am looking to gain as much knowledge as possible to help mitigate those errors. What are some of the main things to keep in mind when starting out as a new agent?

Any insight helps!

Read The 7 Levels of Communication by Michael Maher. It will teach you how to use your own sphere, build relationships, and connect people without spending any money. I agree with @Nathan Gesner, you can't rely on anyone else to train you. Realtors in general only want help from you, they don't want to help you. With that said, team at some brokerages can be a great starting off point for new agents because you get to do Open Houses and learn from agents who are doing deals every day.
