Get my license, but I don't want to join a brokerage? Impossible

I am currently working on my license as people have told me that it would help me in my real estate investing career. Apparently without the license in the state of Michigan I'm limited to selling 5 homes or less. If I start doing wholesaling I will probably get in trouble because they say "I'm marketing other people's homes" without a license. So to do wholesaling I will have to become an agent because my broker holds my license after passing the state exam. How can I park my license and not join a brokerage? (In the state of Michigan)

No way around it. Salesperson have to operate under the supervision of a broker. Further, once licensed, every single real estate activity you are involved with falls under the supervision of your broker and your state real eatate commission. Not just sales, but all of it.
