Invest while im stilk in the army?
Brand new to this forum and real estate, currently in the army stationed in hawaii and my plan was to use my VA home loan on a duplex when i get out in 4 years and pay it off asap and start from there. Wanted to know some takes on rental property, some tips on how you got started and if i should invest while im still in and just get a property manager. love to hear what some of you guys think.

@Tyler Hart, I'm not too familiar with the VA loan, but doesn't it require the property to be owner occupied? If you can buy an investment property with it, I would absolutely buy one as soon as you can and find a good recommended property manager, family member, or friend to help manage the units.
I honestly think that if you are in a position to live in a unit and rent out the rest of the units in a small apartment building that is a great way to start. You practically live for free and then can save up for another rental property.
