Calling all Keller Williams agents
Hey Everyone, so I was recently approached by the owner of the local Keller Williams office to discuss possibly joining their brokerage. I currently operate my own independent brokerage and am doing pretty well for just doing it on the side. There pitch of coarse is that they can take me to the next level. I've always considered myself an investor first and broker second, but given the growth i've seen in my brokerage lately i'm considering putting time into brokering.
I would be interested in hearing from any Keller Williams agent that were someone else and made the switch and how that experience was and how their business has been since the move. If anyone out there ran there own brokerage and then folded into KW I would very much like to talk with you as well. Feel free to PM me or post on the thread.
cheers
Sam

Im not a KW agent, however I have considered either joining them, or purchasing a franchise and opening a KW office. As an agent who hates spending time and money on marketing, I have found it easier being with the market leader in my market. I went from a Century 21 office, middle of the road brokerage and was kind of bluh with them. Then I was with a no-name brokerage with a high commission split...but I found it very hard to generate business being with a no name. Then I went to my current company (which is only in the mid-Atlantic) who was the market leader in the DC area with 19% of all transactions in the metro area....and in my first year with my company, I did double the transactions and I think a large majority of that was simply from being with the market leader. I am very attracted to KW, but with the small presence in my market, it just would not fit with my personality since I rather spend my time on real estate activities as opposed to generating business.
So definitely consider what your personal strengths and weaknesses are, how KW is positioned in your market, and decide whether or not going there will help your business...and whether or not it will make you happier in the way you need to operate your business.
