Do you dress professional or more casually? Curious on the strategies. Thanks!

go by this Principle, most people like to work with who they know like and trust. Like and trust can be a split second decision.

You got the first part down on the Know by door knocking. but I would dress in a manner that is reflective of the community you are door knocking in. Unless you're on the beach, i'd avoid the flip flops and board shorts, but Also I think most people get defenisve or put off by suits when they are knocking on someones door, so Business Casual, collard shirt if that is something you'd wear or a Clean- Non Graphic T (unless you had your own made), clean cut dark denim jeans -- and some clean shoes.

You will do better door knocking when you feel comfortable, and when you feel comfortable the people in front of you will feel more comfortable and they can tell (but we should also not feel like you are dressing for your living room either), and so dress how you would want to dress, in a way that is clean, professional, but more casual in clothes that fit well and are not uncomfortable to tight or too big--  otherwise you will feel it as soon as you knock on the door.
