Can you be a Part-Time Real Estate Agent?

Hello, as the question states I was wondering if you are able to be a part-time real estate agent maybe on the weekends or after hours for work?

I am currently an Engineer that makes about $70k but my true passion is real estate as I have a few real estate investments and knowledge on market trends. I know real estate agents make less but wondering if it would be smart to maybe start as a part time agent on weekend if that is a thing? For those that are agents do you enjoy your career and would you recommend a career in real estate?

Thanks in advance for your replies! :)
