Looking for connections/networking in Rhode Island

I live in Rhode Island and am looking to get started. I'd like to get some networking under my belt so I can begin the journey. I currently own to properties; my parent's home in which they live and my own home. Now, I'd like to start acquiring some income units.

Hi @Alan Lafontaine you’ve come to the right place for networking; welcome to BP!

If you haven’t already seen it, I recommend checking out the Bigger Pockets Ultimate Beginner’s Guide and the entertaining and informative BP podcasts.

There are also offline groups you can attend for in-person networking, like the Rhode Island Real Estate Investor Group in RI or Black Diamond REI in southern Mass.

As far as buying investment/income property, have you talked to a mortgage person to see what price range you can reasonably afford? That's probably a good first step, then after that you can start looking on the market yourself using riliving.com (the consumer side of the RI MLS) or by contacting a real estate agent.
