How do I handle this professionally

I am new to REI (just started last month) and before I found BiggerPockets I had hired a local investor as my coach/mentor. Unfortunately, I did not feel I was receiving the proper education, and after being a member here on this site, I now know I was correct so I cut ties with him last week. But, while I was working with this person, I made several contacts with other local investors and have received information about properties they are trying to sell. It has been a little over a week since I've had any correspondence with either of them, but I now realize I need to be better educated on how to run my investment business in a professional, capable manner and I need time to do this. I don't want to just drop them like I never had any contact with them and burn bridges, but I'm not ready to do any deals yet either (I'm focusing now on creating my business plan). How do I handle this in a professional way, what should be the nature of my next contact with them?
