Australia - House hacking

Hi there, currently looking for my first house to buy and live in, leaning towards a house with a granny flat or extra bedroom so I can then house hack it. Just wondering if there's any legal implications to house hacking in Australia, eg - sharing the same letter box etc... Anyone done this before? any tips would be amazing! Cheers.
