Building Good Credit

Zachary Scott
Posted

Hello, I'm 18 and will be going to get my first credit card in the next year or two. But I would like to ask some experts on how to build credit the right way. My parents are telling me to keep a $100 balance and pay it down slowly. I assume they mean minimum plus interest each month to build credit. However, I've always been told to follow people and learn from those who are where you want to be. And in trying to do that I would like to ask, is it better to pay off the card in full every month and will that build my credit faster and with a better score?
