Disabled Adult: Family Opportunity Mortgage
My husband and myself are looking to purchase a home for our disabled adult daughter ASAP. We have exceptional credit and an income that can comfortably afford payments on another home. We do however have a lien placed on us from a private party in which we lost a lawsuit, and are currently making payments to that private party. Private party has fallen ill and has stopped cashing payments and at this time my husband and myself are in the process of obtaining an attorney to try to revisit the terms we had once agreed on, long story short, my personal bank has informed me that while this lien is held against me I am ineligible for a housing loan, although I can afford it completely- although I didn’t specify family opportunity mortgage. Would a mortgage lending service be more apt or capable to provide a family opportunity mortgage for this situation or am I in a pickle until the lien is lifted and the settlement is completely paid off?
