Real Estate Investing

Would creating a business be the best way to obtain funding? I am fresh out of college, so I don't have the money on hand to just jump into investing into a property out of my own pocket. What would be the best route for me to take? I've been considering creating possibly an LLC and applying for a business grant for minorities to get things off the ground. I've also thought about going through a first time home buyers program to obtain a multifamily unit and later renting out the other units. I don't know of anyone personally involved in real estate investing so I've been trying to do as much reading as possible, but I'm just finding a lot of trouble on where is the best place to begin to get the ball rolling. Please HELP!
