Got laid off and am studying to get my RE license

Hey BP family,

The past few months have been a tough ride for a 21 year old student going to Sac State with all of what has been going on with the pandemic and figuring out what ways I want to approach my real estate career so I can. As of recent being laid off from the state changed some plans for me since I do not have an income anymore for the mean time. So a lot of planning, studying and figuring out what I am going to do has been a main focus of mine this past month. As a newbie who is trying to get his feet wet in this career field, I decided to I will go get my RE license to create a stepping stone for myself so I can learn by actively being in the field and it will also create a income for me which I do not have as of this time. I have been actively researching and am trying to learn more from books to learn how to be the top 10% of the real estate agents since they are the ones who are making money. I feel like the lack of preparation for people who are going to be realtors is the reason why most fail, so I want to prepare the best way possible. So me going into this career I want to do whatever it takes to prepare to give me a high chance of success and not fall in the category of the 80% of agents. One huge thing I learned is that having a mentor is very crucial for a newbie agent to be successful and to continue to be successful.I am from the Sacramento area and am willing to help any experienced investors or agents with any work they may have need to be done. I wanted to come here and ask people for advice on how to find a mentor and how to create that relationship. Thank you for your guys time and hope everyone stays safe out there!
