Newbie from Hawaii!
Aloha,
My name is Tyler from Hawaii. Randomly happened upon this site and spent the last three hours reading thru tons of threads. Lots of good information. Thanks to all who contribute, AND asking good "newbie" questions.
I'm a young father who has big dreams of providing a good life for my wife and kids. I've been reading a lot of personal finance, self help books, and my wife and I are almost debt free(should have our brand new car paid off this year), and are excited to start looking for our first home in the next two years.
Besides my full time job, and my wife working on our stay at home business, I want to become a successful real estate investor. Besides everything I've read on here, I have zero experience/knowledge with real estate investing.
HOWEVER, I have set a goal and actually wrote it down that I would be a millionaire in 5 years.(Something I picked up from the book Secrets of the Millionaire mind by T.Harv Ecker) I made this declaration to my wife and she said she'll support me in accomplishing this. Is 5 years to short of a time frame? Too unrealistic with all that is involved with this industry?
Any advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated!! Mahalo!
