Feedback desired on plan
Wow! That is what I first thought when I started reading this forum a couple of weeks ago. Such an incredible wealth of knowledge and people willing to share their expertise and opinions!
My fella and I are wanting to get into the rehab business. He's bought some courses and gone through them and I am almost done taking a real estate sales course. While the sales course has been extremely helpful, I realized a couple of things when going through it. 1. I have absolutely no desire to sell real estate, or pay a broker to park my license. 2. Having a license could actually be a detriment in the rehab business, or at least cause me to have to sign a lot of disclosures. Since he's going to be better handling the financial side and attracting investors, I'm looking for my niche in the company, other than vp of organization.
I'm currently thinking about going for a Home Inspection License. Now that field and type of work excites me! I'm very hands on and I think the knowledge would be a plus in rehabbing. In addition to providing another income stream, I'm thinking that networking in the area we are in would be somewhat facilitated. Neither one of us has lived here very long. We've already found an excellent roofer and would look to them to help find other contractors.
So, after that small essay, I would like to solicit opinions as to whether having a Home Inspection License would be valuable enough to spend the money on the education or should I just learn the info on my own?
Thanks for this wonderful site and TIA for any responses!
