Advice on ways to find a mentor

Michelle Bethel
Posted

Hi everyone, I'm new to the real estate industry and just started to get an interest in wholesaling. I purchased an online application about a week ago and started diving in immediately, but it has left me with so many unanswered questions.  I am very interested to start a business through wholesaling, but understand that I need more guidance other than an online application that I purchased.  I wanted to know if anyone can give me advice on how to find an honest mentor in my area.

Thanks Derek! I will definitely start doing that. I wanted to get my business set up, so I could at least have a card to give to anyone that will listen to me. Would you suggest I do that first? Also, I’m using clever investor....it has a lot of good info, I just wanted more hands on guidance. The last thing I want is to make a crucial mistake!

Michelle, I would not get too bogged down with setting up the business first. Instead, I would focus on gaining as much knowledge as possible by reading books, listening to podcasts, attending webinars, and watching REI videos. In the meantime, I would also start attending REIA meetings and other REI networking events in your area. One of the quickest ways to be successful in any endeavor is to find an established proven model and copy it. That is why finding a mentor can be like rocket fuel for your REI business. A lot of people get hung up in creating their business card or company name and LLC and end up never doing a deal. Best of luck in your journey! PM me if you have any questions.
