Investing from overseas

Hello all!

I'm currently in the USAF serving an overseas assignment. My wife and I are hoping to make our first investment purchase this year with the intention of renting it out for extra income. We've looked around a bit but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on which markets to look at or where other people are seeing value. As well, if anyone has a turnkey they would recommend, or want to share any positive or negative experiences, we would appreciate that tremendously.
