Suggested Book List/Baby Steps
Hello BiggerPockets Ccommunity!
I have recently been submerging myself in books such as Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Brandon Turner's infamous Book on Rental Properties as well as listening to his podcasts and Grant Cardone's podcasts on my drive to work. I need some advice on how to correctly take action as I am extremely adamant in getting my money to work for me since I've been an aggressive saving. It's now time to make my money work as suggested in The Richest Man In Babylon. As you can see, I've been reading, but anymore books is appreciated. My main question here is: What actionable/attainable steps should I take to get started in obtaining buy and hold rental properties (either in-state in California, which sounds difficult from what I have heard, or out-of-state, which more affordable)?
Hi Arron!! Congrats on starting your real estate journey! First thing I would begin to do is to start reaching out to a few lenders in your area to begin the pre-approval process. Once a lender is able to pre-approve you to purchase a property, you can begin to partner with an agent or even a wholesaler to begin looking at deals in the area.
If you aren't there yet, also feel free to start practicing how to run numbers! That way you'll be prepped and ready to go once the pre-approval has come through.
Episode 142 on BiggerPockets is also great for newbies for all the ways you can begin to start the process! Here is a link as well:
