State License Requirements (MO)

I have been trying to find a definitive answer to this question. Does a Missouri resident need to obtain licensing before renting out real estate investments? I have attempted to do some research and unfortunately I keep going in circles- maybe because I am not wording the keywords right. I tried looking for any similar topics in the forum with no luck. Anyone able to point me in the right direction on how to look into this?

In Missouri - to rent out a property

No license required to own property in the state of Missouri - but many municipalities across the state have different regulations to owning and operating rental property with some sort of fine for failure to get one, and not very good at figuring out if you are not compliant.

So you need to check with EACH AND EVERY CITY to get the rules.

I wrote a blog post last year for Mid-America Association of Real Estate Investors covering the Kansas City Metro.  Here is a repost of it.

. . . . Well, I tried to repost, but as it has links and websites Bigger Pockets blocked it.

Instead, you can find my personal blog page here on BP - I just posted it there or you can find the MAREI website - its a .org  under the Resources tab look for City Rules and Regulations AND if you know of an update to this list of rules and regs, please let me know.
