Real Estate license Vs No license

I have set a new goal for next year to break into the REI world. I’m starting a new job that would allow me to work on getting my real estate license when I’m off. The reason I would want to be an agent is so I can understand more about the in and outs of deals. I also would use that money that I make in real estate to help fund deals and also having access to the mls sounds like it would be a good idea. Is there any reason why I should not to be an investor and an agent in the state of Colorado?
