RE Investment with an IRA that is not self directed
Question from a newbie. I have 5k in Roth IRA and 20k in Traditional IRA. The 20k was rolled over from old 401k. They are sitting in bank doing nothing. I would like to pull them and put them in an investment property. I'm guessing since I'm not 59 1/2 I will pay 10% penalty on both but taxes on one the traditional since I've had the Roth for 10 years. The taxes would be paid with regular income tax right? then I could deduct the expanses for fixing the property at that time? Clear as mud. Any input would be great.
