How do you deal with renovations and general contractors?

Hi,

I am looking to start doing some rehabs and I wanted to get some info from members who are already doing this.

I have limited construction / rehab experience and I'm wondering If I should be hiring a General Contractor to do the work or finding each individual person myself and acting as the GC.

How do some of you handle getting the work done? (if you're not doing it yourself)

I would imagine it's cheaper to NOT have to hire a GC, right?

Thanks

Nick
