Sign me up if that's the case. It covers things like snow removal, some landscaping, garbage collection, water and sewer (in some cases). Sometimes HOA may have a community pool (yuk !!) or gym included in the membership dues, and then they set a milllion rules for things you cannot do. You need to read the HOA docs carefully to see what's covered and what's not. HOAs are most anti fun associations out there. No sense of humor. None whatsoever.

@Ripple Shah For the most part, they just set the rules for the development. Paint colors, what people can place on their balconies, trying to keep harmony of the area. If it's a condo or townhouse, they are responsible for exterior maintenance, but also making sure everyone does their chimney and dryer lent inspections.When it comes to testing, it's usually the owner that has to do that. Owners are responsible for their own plumbing, electric, and HVAC as long as it's inside their own unit.

What does HOA cover?

How do I find out what HOA cover? For example, do the HOA complete Radon tests on a multiyear basis? Or does the HOA do electrical and plumbing renovation after x amount of years?
