Legal Entity/Business Structuring

Is it advisable to legally structure your company before pursuing any REI ventures? Or should someone get a couple of deals under their belt before incorporating?

On a side note, I do plan to talk to an attorney and CPA soon for legal advice, but I just wondering what some of you did before starting out.

Thanks,

Nestor

I recently went through this. Long story short, I bought my first two rental properties in the last 11 months, then set up an LLC (2 actually).

I talked to 2 attorneys, my CPA, my property manager, my insurance agent, 2 mortgage brokers, and numerous investors. What I found? None of them gave me the same answer. Every pice of advice was "right" from their point of view, but don't forget, this is your decision and you have to learn to take advice from experts and then make a decision.

Don't get stuck with "analysis paralysis". Or, never forget, you can't steer a parked car. Sometimes it's just better to get moving and do something. You can always adjust as you go.
