Where to begin?

So I just recently got into Real Estate investing and I was just wondering what people thought the best place to start out was. I read the eBook and it said a good place was wholesaling because it required minimal funds and could produce large paydays if done properly. But then I just read an article on here that talked about how it's not the best place to start... I don't have a large amount of money in the bank to purchase properties to buy and hold or buy and sell, wholesaling seems like the best place for me. What do you think? Thanks for any input.
