hi everyone. My name Is Jason i live in chicago I'm really excited to be apart of this community. Iv been reading alot of books and listening to all the amazing podcast. Me and my wife have come to the conclusion that we want to start of investing in buy and hold properties. Multifamilys buidlings. we dont have alot of money starting out and are noticing that we have to look at properties pretty south. We want to live in one unit and rent out the other and hopefully atleast live for free. My only concern of course in that are price point in between $100 and $200 thousand. The units we can afford are in areas that i dont feel safe living in. Thats just the facts. We were also thinking about buying a condo near rogers park edwater. and rent them out to collage students near loyola. There cheaper wich i like. But iv heard mix reviews about HOA dues. Idlove to hear some advice on the chicago market and how you guys feel about condos near universitys and buy and holds. I really want to learn as much as i can and make the best first step that we can getting into the amazing business.
