First (or actually second..) investment

We bought a house in 2011 for about 135,000 less for what it worth today. We live in it and it is our first home. Trying to think outside the box on how to get out of this paycheck to paycheck living, we entertain ourselves on turning on and making some good profit. The big question is, what is the best thing to buy... We are a family now and need some space to ourselves, maybe selling isn't the option?
