Purchasing First Home

I have always been interested in going into the real estate business. I read alot of books and did alot of research on the internet. Now, I think I am ready to dive in. I have been looking at a few properties around my house withing a 15 mile radius mostly looking at duplex's. Housing where i live in pretty cheap. Properties here do not appreciate very much in value but because of the low price of the homes I can generate a nice cash flow even after expenses.

I have enough saved right now for a 7% down payment but I have been saving $750 a month for my first purchase so that number will increase every month. My only concern is that I do not have poor credit. I never had a credit card. No car payment. How hard is it to buy a house with a poor credit score? Say around 580-600?
