How often do tenants on month to month need to resign lease?

Month-to-month means they have not re-signed a lease but are operating in the holdover period on the same terms. If you want to get them out, it's better to keep them on month-to-month. You would need to give 60 days notice to vacate in most areas to be safe. If you want to keep them, you want them to re-sign a new lease to lock them in.
