Hi,

I'm Lacey Rathsack, a real estate agent based in Roseburg, Oregon. My boyfriend, Asa, who runs his own lawn care business, and I are looking to venture into real estate investing. We're new to this field and would appreciate any tips for getting started. Additionally, we're interested in connecting with others in the Roseburg area who are also involved in real estate investing. Any advice or local contacts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Lacey,

Welcome to the world of real estate investing! It's fantastic that you and Asa are looking to get started together. Since you're already a real estate agent, you have a great foundation to build on, especially with your market knowledge in Roseburg, Oregon.

Here are a few tips to help you get started:

  1. Leverage Your Local Expertise: As a local agent, you're already familiar with the Roseburg market. Use this to your advantage by identifying potential investment properties, such as undervalued homes or areas with strong rental demand.
  2. Start with a Clear Strategy: Whether you're interested in flipping properties, buy-and-hold, or rental properties, having a clear strategy will help guide your decisions and keep you focused. Given Asa's lawn care business, you might even consider properties with large yards that could benefit from his expertise.
  3. Network with Local Investors: Connecting with other investors in the Roseburg area can be incredibly valuable. Consider attending local real estate meetups or joining online forums where local investors share insights and opportunities.
  4. Educate Yourself Continuously: The real estate market is constantly changing, so staying informed is key. Keep reading, listening to podcasts, and learning from others' experiences to refine your strategies.
  5. Consider Your Financing Options: Explore different financing options, such as conventional loans, hard money loans, or even partnering with other investors, to find what works best for your situation.

I'd love to connect and share more insights as you embark on this journey. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further advice. Looking forward to hearing about your progress!

Best, Ryan Cheek
