Newbie with a VA loan and a dream. Any advice about the market in Jacksonville FL?

The reason I ask is because me and my wife are moving to Jacksonville FL for my work (change of duty station.) I'm doing my due diligence here on BP as well as my nose in books. Whilst I run to get my real estate license for the MLS I wanted to get somewhat of a feel for the market, what better way to do that then ask someone who's already invested.
