REI Networking Event Alternatives

I've been to one REIA probably a month or two ago. Absolutely loved it and have been looking to go to more. Problem is everywhere I see them, it's always during a week night which does not work well with my work schedule. Are there ever any networking events that meet on weekends in person? Haven't tried online meetups, but I feel they would not be the same. Any advice? Located on Long Island, NY.
