Cross Border Investing

Hello BP Family! I'm bit stuck trying to figure out the legal ways to go about doing this as I am Canadian and am looking to invest in American markets. I've heard I might need an E-2 visa? I might need a different LLC each state I plan on investing in? I just need a Canadian business to invest in America? there are many tax complications? Any help would be great and I am also just looking to connect with anyone willing on here. I want to learn everything and also if there are Canadian investors I am interested in learning from you as well. any help is appreciated!
