Looking for new books

I have some free time in-between buying properties and I like to use it wisely. I need some recommendations on books regarding basics of starting a business (beyond a simple sole proprietorship), personal growth/values. I've read several multi-fam management/acquisitions, financing books.

Thanks for the advice

Hi Jeff!

Based on your interests and current readings, here are some book recommendations that encompass both business fundamentals and personal growth:

Business Fundamentals:

"The Lean Startup" by Eric Ries: This book introduces a new approach to business that's being adopted around the world. It explains how to start a company with the least amount of capital and maximize the value produced.

"The Hard Thing About Hard Things" by Ben Horowitz: A no-nonsense guide to starting and running a business. Horowitz doesn't sugarcoat the challenges, but provides invaluable insights on navigating the toughest problems in the business world.

"Zero to One" by Peter Thiel: Thiel touches upon the concept of building something new and unique. He dives deep into how businesses can avoid competition and achieve monopoly status in their niche.

"Business Model Generation" by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur: A great resource that introduces a visual chart to describe your business's value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances.

Personal Growth/Values:

"Atomic Habits" by James Clear: A guide on how small changes can lead to significant improvements in one's life. Great for personal development and understanding how habits shape our lives.

"Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor E. Frankl: A memoir by a Holocaust survivor, this book delves deep into finding purpose in all forms of existence, even the most brutal ones.

"The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey: A classic in personal growth, Covey's book lays out seven habits that can help anyone achieve personal and interpersonal effectiveness.

"Daring Greatly" by Brené Brown: Brown delves into the power of vulnerability and how it can lead to greater creativity, productivity, and meaningful relationships.

Given that you've read several books on multi-family management and acquisitions, you might already have a foundation in property management. These recommended reads can provide a broader understanding of starting and managing businesses and will also offer insights for personal growth.

Remember, the key to any book is not just reading, but internalizing and applying the knowledge. Happy reading!
