Cook County Issues

Thomas Whelchel
Posted

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I am working with an agent that I found here on BP and appreciate all that he is doing for and with me. One thing that I am finding is that unless I am willing to make a healthy down payment, the only property deals that seem to cashflow for me are multi-family (3-4 plex). I have found one in Cook County that looks like it will work but after all that I have heard about how difficult it can be dealing with getting tenants out that do not pay rent in Cook County, I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this and could shed some additional light on it for me.

THANK YOU!

Check out this podcast episode all about the eviction process in Chicago - https://www.straightupchicagoi...

It can be a long process even if you have an experienced attorney handling everything. I know @John Warren has experience with the eviction process here in Cook County. You should always try to negotiate a mutual lease termination (cash for keys) with the tenant and only go the eviction route as a last resort.
