CPA / Aspiring Contractor First Time Investor Looking for Local Mentor

Adam Myers
Posted

Started in the big 4 at KPMG, ended up at a local company with a small equity piece and salary at 30 years old only to realize i'm emptier than I ever have been before. About a year back I bought my first house and have been renovating it. Never looked back. I've found my passion as problem solving, investing and grit have always been separate concepts and never as intertwined as they are now.

My question is to those who have started out in a similar fashion and the best way to find a good mentor. I am fully 2 feet into this and want to put both the intellectual side and the construction side of me to work.

Any recommendations on finding one or criteria in an initial screening? Or can someone share their recent first mentor experiences? I feel as if it's important to choose the right mentor early on. Thanks, all!
