College Student Looking for Career Advice from Seasoned Investors + Industry Experts
Hey Everyone!
My name is Daniel Kaplan, I am currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison class of 2025, studying personal finance and real estate. Here is my real estate track record: I have a cash flowing SF rental property( 35% c.o.c. return and built in an additional 12.5% in equity from rehab), I am currently in the process of a $500,000+ house hack rental in Madison, I am currently under contract on my first wholesale in which I have a turnkey property for for 40% below market value, I interned for a commercial real estate development company in Summer 2022, and lastly I have an internship for a commercial real estate brokerage in Chicago for my summer of 2023.
I already have my sophomore year summer lined up in Chicago and wanted to reach out to get advice from some industry professionals / seasoned investors. I am looking for an internship in the summer of 2024( in hopes of getting a return offer for when I 2025 and when I graduate). My goal is to work for a prestigious, well-renowned commercial real estate company. Does anybody have some good recommendations of companies I should begin laying the ground work for? Also, are there any qualifications, certificates, or classes I should take to make me more qualified for the position? I have an extremely disciplined work ethic so any value provided is something I will work towards everyday.
Would love to hear everyone's input and experiences
Thanks,
Daniel
