Realtor that also has Property Management business

Otto Williams
Posted

Is it smart to hire my realtor as my property management being that they own a property management business? Or is it smarter to keep my realtor and property management separated. Im thinking its seems convenient to have my realtor also be my property manager. But to keep players playing fair maybe I should have a different property manager.

Thanks for the help and knowledge.

Quote from @Otto Williams:

There's an increased chance of something going wrong, but not enough that it would worry me. I'm a REALTOR and a PM. I buy/sell for my investors all the time and a couple of them have made a killing these last 5-6 years thanks to me helping them find opportunities.

I would not help my investor buy a piece of crap because I'm the one that will have to manage it. I only want them buying good properties that I am happy to manage.
