Starting Out! And want to learn

Didas Akognon
Posted

Hello Everyone! My name is Didas Akognon and I am from Prince George's County, Maryland. I am 28 years old and I am new to this forum. I am multimedia technician for my day job and by night I am an entrepreneur. I own my own multimedia brand, DDot Visualz, LLC. I am looking to invest in real estate and purchase my first home. I mainly want to do multi family, health homes, and at some point, off campus housing. I really want to learn and gain knowledge from the pros in order to break into the industry! I am a single man living in a current roommate situation and I want to make this year the year I purchase and invest into my future! CAN SOME PLEASE HELP ME? I have money saved up as well!

Thank you for this forum!

Welcome to BP @Didas Akognon

Id say the best strategy to starting out would be househacking. If you can afford a legal multifamily in the area, it is hard to go wrong with that purchase. Multis will be primarily in DC. After that Id consider properties with ADU's. (Accessory Dwelling Units). Those will be in Moco and DC, but not in PG. Then Id consider a rent by the room situation with roommates. That strategy will work in any of the counties in the area.
