Newbie! Where to start?

Caleb Stacks
Posted

Hi all,

I’m currently a travel nurse and would like to start real estate investing with the money I’ve made and saved from my job(s). Flipping, rentals, and Airbnb is what’s been appealing to me. I’d like any advice on where/what to start out with. I’ve been reading and trying to learn and I don’t want to get stuck in the rut of “trying to learn” forever. I want to jump in but would like to hear from some of you how you got started and what worked best. Thank you!

Hey Caleb,

The most easy place to start is where you live. Whether you rent or decide to buy, as a travel nurse you are out of your home often, make sure it is Airbnb friendly and rent it out! Once you get the hang of it, decide if you like Househacking with Airbnb, you could buy a rental in every place that you get assigned or continue to buy in the same market as you get to know it. Being a travel nurse, you could easily serve that niche. I'm not sure what your budget is, but in affordable markets like St. Louis, you could get a quad, furnish it and market all to nurses.

Lets talk! I'll reach out.
