How did you decide on your business name?

Question

So my wife and I are trying to decide on a business name before starting an LLC, opening up any commercial accounts, etc., and we can't figure out where to go with it, so I'm looking for ideas. What names do you guys go by and how'd you decide on it?

I am a flipper & buy & hold.. My LLC has Designs at the end because I want people to know that my properties are of the highest standards and qualities. I think a great name can really have a positive impact on your business depending on exactly what you are doing.

SPE (Special Purpose Entity) names. Got a contract? "123 Main Street Properties, LLC" works well with the state and if you market with SEO in mind. Get 123MainStreet.com registered and work on SEO placement. Simple.

That's what I do as well.  My LLCs that own my commercial apt bldgs are generic or reference the address in some form.

I have had extremely good luck with a generic mgt co I am the 'employee' of.  Tenants see me as a working stiff, but I take care of them so they don't have apathy towards the 'owner' that a normal PM might get.

Some like to let everyone know they own things.  Pretty sure my house tenants know I own the houses, but not the apts.  They say hi, kids show me their new teeth, they tip me sometimes when on service calls.  I can say I have to check on some requests that aren't normal and I am not the bad guy if the answer is no or  'not until....'

I would have a holding or mgt co either way.  I've never had a tenant make a check out to me personally.  That would be soo weird and probably harder to manage at tax time.  Good luck!

Depends on the purpose of the business I would guess.

I have a generic sounding name for my mgt co.  Something that sounds like you might've heard of it but has nothing to do with my name.  My goal isn't to tell everybody the buck stops with me.

What will you be doing @Lucas Hammer  ?

I've used my last name with words holdings and properties.  i have also used my parts of my daughters names combined to make a single word, and finally my wife's and daughters initials of their first names with the word investments.
